For those who have always thought they’d one day settle down, retire or winter in South Florida as well as those who really never thought the day would come – now is proving to be the perfect time to relocate to South Florida and The Club at Quail Ridge has been welcoming new Member residents at a record pace. 2020 has brought new priorities to homeowners, including increased space, outdoor living quarters, and better weather, while changing their day-to-day routines – no longer is living near a major city hub required when you can work from home; no longer are homebuyers willing to sacrifice space for commuting time. Now, pair those transformed priorities with the desire to be somewhere with year-round outdoor lifestyle weather, tax benefits and more affordable cost of living and you have a no-brainer. South Florida is proving to be a bright light beckoning newcomers from all over the country.

Where are New Homeowners Coming From?

This influx of new homebuyers has been keenly felt at Quail Ridge where we’ve seen new interest from all of the typical feeder markets, as well as new areas, such as New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. And each new Member prospect has a similar story of changed wants and needs while asserting that there’s just never been a time where they felt so sure it’s right.

Why do they love Quail Ridge?

When touring the property, everyone is impressed by the recently renovated amenities and facilities, events calendars and overall lifestyle, but there’s always a special recognition received for golf at Quail Ridge. With an extraordinary percentage of the membership being low handicap and scratch golfers and the brand new, recently redesigned Bobby Weed South Course, there’s no question why golfers across the US are flocking to join the Club.

What sets Quail Ridge apart from the rest?

Going into 2020 was similar to any other typical South Florida sales season for real estate but shifts in consumer wants and needs due to changing circumstances turned the 2020 Summer selling season into something really special, especially at The Club at Quail Ridge. This summer alone, the Club community experienced a substantial increase in sales when compared to the previous year, making 2020 a very strong year for sales and membership.

Quail Ridge has always attracted baby boomers looking for a prime golf community in Palm Beach County, but in the wake of lifestyle and work transformations due to the pandemic, certain homebuyer priorities changed. People are now looking to spend more time in their homes where they can have peace of mind about how they spend their days, including work-from-home opportunities. They’re also realizing that tax benefits and lower costs of living experienced in Florida can be applied year-round instead of just seasonally as they no longer have to live close to a city center and commute to work. With the majority of new member residents joining from colder weather climate states in the Eastern corridor of the United States and the Midwest, plus Canada, it’s easy to see that folks would rather spend this upcoming winter in sunny Florida.

Pair all of that with a Club renowned for superb golf and The Club at Quail Ridge continues to come out as a clear first choice. Two championship golf courses, a state-of-the-art practice facility, including a sizable putting green, chipping and pitching green along with a short iron target green, PGA Professionals that are experts in teaching the game of golf and using state of the art technology to help elevate members to the next level. At Quail Ridge, golf extends far beyond the bunkers and aprons of the greens making it a consistent top choice for low handicap and scratch golfers.

The Club at Quail Ridge has been committed to its members in many ways, from providing the best golf courses in the country to offering the finest dining options in Delray Beach. Even their Fitness Center was made to be exemplary, with the major enhancements that it recently underwent improving the beloved space even more. A simple, yet modern design was built into the building, instilling an extra sense of peace in the hearts of all who step into it. Furthermore, the work done to the place increased its size to about 10,000 square feet, which allowed for the Club to proffer even more, ranging from ‘smart’ cardio machines to growing the number of classes that they can present. Here’s what one can expect when they first stop by.

The Fitness Center’s many changes have garnered attention, but one highly anticipated addition was the new equipment. One of their newest machines is the QueenAx, a large metallic frame that sports a variety of tools to use for strength, muscle, and stretching exercises. As a result, everyone can utilize the QueenAx in creating and following their personal workout routine. For those interested in tracking their improvement, or simply wanting to watch something while they do cardio, the Technogym cardio machines touch sensitive screens and integration with a Mywellness account should appeal to them. Through inputting their account information into any Technogym machine, users can track their statistics and set their unique preferences for certain pieces of Technogym equipment, as well as follow their health progress.

Among the Fitness Center’s upgrades, a particularly prioritized renovation was extra space for classes. Aside from accommodating the contemporary modern aesthetic that flows throughout the building, these rooms let The Club at Quail Ridge present everyone with extra space to work out in while bestowing the Fitness Center the ability to implement more programs. A separate Pilates room, complete with reformers and other equipment, lets attendees enjoy smaller classes dedicated to the fitness system, while a larger group classroom lets the Club host exercise programs in an expanded area. An outdoor patio room with a percola provides a zone for participants to participate in outdoor yoga, Pilates, and tai chi in a group, among others, while also granting them a site for them to sit and take in nature’s holistic benefits. One unique feature is the Stretch Oasis, built from what was once a former classroom. This gives members a location to partake in stretches conducted by on-site fitness professionals.

The updates to the Fitness Center benefit all who use it in a myriad of ways, from expanding the class list to providing the most modern workout technology. The concept that unites the planned improvements is innovation. With the changes that came to the Fitness Center at The Club at Quail Ridge came the opportunity to grow. With every advancement, with every change, with every modification, The Club at Quail Ridge is able to let their members improve their health in their way.

The Club at Quail Ridge has served its members for many years. Quail Ridge Country Club in Boynton Beach, Florida is making over its storied South Course with an expert renovation by Bobby Weed. Respected for its challenge and admired for its amazing incorporation of natural landscape into the design, players will have a chance to rediscover the course this fall, with its in-progress redesign.

The South Course’s renovation comes roughly a year after Quail Ridge’s addition of a new clubhouse in late 2017. As one of the first of the two courses to receive this treatment, high expectations were set. The South Course is more than just a beloved way to spend tee time – it exists as part of the Club’s living history, with it having been originally built by Joe Lee in the 70s. That’s why the members and the pro team of this Club were insistent that the course must be preserved, updated, and maintained to the highest standards.

Enter course designer Bobby Weed. A hidden secret in the golf world, Weed and his company, Bobby Weed Golf Design, are behind some of the most well-known courses in existence. Among their original projects is the 18-hole course at Spanish Oaks Golf Club, and among their renovations is the course at Grandfather Golf and Country Club, each of them the proud recipients of a variety of awards. It was no surprise that the team at Quail Ridge Country Club would select him for the update of their beloved South Course.

With Bobby Weed Golf Design’s recent award for Excellence in Achievement for course design from BoardRoom Magazine, Quail Ridge knew that Weed and his team would be the only one able to truly preserve Lee’s vision, while granting the course a more modern touch. The plans for the course include introducing more visual contrast, creating unique bunkering layouts, and introducing less prominent green complexes, for a more challenging and engaging game. Through Weed’s vision and experience, and the Club’s commitment to both preservation and progress, the course will reach new standards in excellence.

For the members of Quail Ridge Country Club Weed’s work on The South Course means more than simply updating it. The Club is, first and foremost, a golf Club. The Society of Seniors Championship was played here, as was The Golf Road Cup in 2018. At the same time, it has hosted community wide classics and tournaments, practice sessions shared between students and PGA Professionals at the practice facility, and private tee times shared between friends. Golf history has been forged on Quail Ridge’s greens, and continues to be made here.

Quail Ridge Country Club has served as the home away from home for many of its members for generations. They return for games on its two golf courses, and for rounds of play between friends on the Har-Tru tennis courts. PGA Professional staff is there to help members improve their golf skills, using state-of-the-art technology and programs. Boynton Beach is home to some of our favorite South Florida restaurants. From Mexican dishes served with panache to remixes on American, Boynton Beach’s dining scene is truly something to experience. Why not spend a couple weekends, or a winter, and work your way through all of the best restaurants here? Below are some of our favorites – make sure to try them all!

Jacob’s Restaurant and Delicatessen

Age can serve as the best indicator of quality for many things, such as wine and cheese. Certain restaurants fall under this qualifier, including Jacob’s Restaurant and Delicatessen. If it’s been around for over 20 years and is one of the best hidden gems in Boynton. You won’t find a website for this established dining space, but you will find plenty of people raving about dishes such as their hand sliced lox and their blueberry blintzes. Trust us, this is a true local’s favorite.

The Breakfast Shack

Another favorite South Florida restaurant is The Breakfast Shack. In South Florida, even the breakfasts are served with a tropical flair! You need no more evidence than the plates at The Breakfast Shack, which come topped with tropical fruit and served with cheer. Grab the Big Kahuna platter and share with friends – or have it all to yourself – to start off your day!

Mamma Mia Italian Restaurant

But South Florida isn’t all about the tropics and when you’re craving classic Italian food, there’s no place better than Mamma Mia. This restaurant is well known for its classic Italian platters, such as Zuppa d’Pesce and Parmigiana. Specialty pizzas such as the Contadina, with baby meatballs and celery, highlight the chef’s unique tastes while also making this restaurant stand out. Perfect for when the grandkids who “don’t like seafood” come to visit too.

Sushi Machi Japanese Cuisine

But what’s a restaurant in South Florida without fresh fish? Sushi Machi Japanese Cuisine has gained recognition for its inventive rolls, its teppan style seating, and its world class sushi bar. Perfect for celebrating a big event or enjoying a romantic dinner for two, the intimate setting and exquisite menu sets the scene perfectly. The Bahamas Roll with conch and masago is a popular menu item, alongside the Machi Tataki, seared tuna with a special wasabi sauce.

Sweetwater

Another favorite South Florida restaurant is the unique Sweetwater. There isn’t anything like Sweetwater, within Boynton Beach or anywhere else. In its efforts to replicate Southern cooking and combine it with gastronomic sensibilities, the chefs have made a dining experience that simply cannot be replicated. If there’s something that you like on the menu, get it now – the chefs’ constant experimentation combined with theirs taste for pop up restaurant means that the menu is always changing. Right now, we like the cauliflower hush puppies with microgreens and red curry mustard with their 7 Minute Martini, but that could change.

Village Tavern

Part gastropub, part bar, all one great experience, Village Tavern isn’t afraid to play a little fast and loose with the rules of traditional cuisine. It’s why you find dishes such as bacon wrapped scallops with teriyaki glaze alongside Brick Chicken with green beans. Make sure to make it to Happy Hour for refreshments such as the Cuketail, with vodka, strawberries, and hibiscus cucumbers.

Casa Linda

South Florida’s mix of cultures has led to the forging of some of the area’s best cuisines. No one restaurant stands out as an example better than Casa Linda. Family run since its inception, locals gather here for some of the best Mexican food in Boynton Beach. Chefs serve up dishes such as carne asada, topped with yellow rice and refried beans, and ropa vieja with black beans and spices.

The Quail’s Nest Dining Room

Last but not least one of our favorite Restaurant in South Florida is also the heart of Quail Ridge’s social activities, the Quail’s Nest Dining Room. The Quail’s Nest Dining Room is perfect for both holidays and Club social events. Expert trained chefs serve up everything from steakhouse dishes to eclectic takes on classic American food. It’s the perfect representation of Quail Ridge’s commitment to quality and luxury.

For years Quail Ridge has served as the winter home and a vacation destination for families from all over North America. Our members enjoy two championship golf courses and rounds of play between friends on the Har-Tru tennis courts. Not to mention the social events which are tailored to members’ interests and can vary from holiday parties to tours around town. Plus the newly renovated Clubhouse is perfect for hosting private events or meeting neighbors at public ones.

Nearby Boynton Beach and Delray Beach provide opportunities to experience local art and culture, with museums, restaurants, and festivals helping to fill up the social scene. When Members return to Quail Ridge, they return to the home that best reflects how they live. Neighborhoods within neighborhoods let you find the lifestyle that matches yours, and residences from townhouses to single family homes let you find the home that meets your needs. Homes start from the $200s, up to $2 million. Call us at (561)737-5100, or click here to learn more today. Our 7 Favorite South Florida Restaurants
