Boynton Beach is home to some of our favorite South Florida restaurants. From Mexican dishes served with panache to remixes on American, Boynton Beach’s dining scene is truly something to experience. Why not spend a couple weekends, or a winter, and work your way through all of the best restaurants here? Below are some of our favorites – make sure to try them all!
Jacob’s Restaurant and Delicatessen
Age can serve as the best indicator of quality for many things, such as wine and cheese. Certain restaurants fall under this qualifier, including Jacob’s Restaurant and Delicatessen. If it’s been around for over 20 years and is one of the best hidden gems in Boynton. You won’t find a website for this established dining space, but you will find plenty of people raving about dishes such as their hand sliced lox and their blueberry blintzes. Trust us, this is a true local’s favorite.
The Breakfast Shack
Another favorite South Florida restaurant is The Breakfast Shack. In South Florida, even the breakfasts are served with a tropical flair! You need no more evidence than the plates at The Breakfast Shack, which come topped with tropical fruit and served with cheer. Grab the Big Kahuna platter and share with friends – or have it all to yourself – to start off your day!
Mamma Mia Italian Restaurant
But South Florida isn’t all about the tropics and when you’re craving classic Italian food, there’s no place better than Mamma Mia. This restaurant is well known for its classic Italian platters, such as Zuppa d’Pesce and Parmigiana. Specialty pizzas such as the Contadina, with baby meatballs and celery, highlight the chef’s unique tastes while also making this restaurant stand out. Perfect for when the grandkids who “don’t like seafood” come to visit too.
Sushi Machi Japanese Cuisine
But what’s a restaurant in South Florida without fresh fish? Sushi Machi Japanese Cuisine has gained recognition for its inventive rolls, its teppan style seating, and its world class sushi bar. Perfect for celebrating a big event or enjoying a romantic dinner for two, the intimate setting and exquisite menu sets the scene perfectly. The Bahamas Roll with conch and masago is a popular menu item, alongside the Machi Tataki, seared tuna with a special wasabi sauce.
Sweetwater
Another favorite South Florida restaurant is the unique Sweetwater. There isn’t anything like Sweetwater, within Boynton Beach or anywhere else. In its efforts to replicate Southern cooking and combine it with gastronomic sensibilities, the chefs have made a dining experience that simply cannot be replicated. If there’s something that you like on the menu, get it now – the chefs’ constant experimentation combined with theirs taste for pop up restaurant means that the menu is always changing. Right now, we like the cauliflower hush puppies with microgreens and red curry mustard with their 7 Minute Martini, but that could change.
Village Tavern
Part gastropub, part bar, all one great experience, Village Tavern isn’t afraid to play a little fast and loose with the rules of traditional cuisine. It’s why you find dishes such as bacon wrapped scallops with teriyaki glaze alongside Brick Chicken with green beans. Make sure to make it to Happy Hour for refreshments such as the Cuketail, with vodka, strawberries, and hibiscus cucumbers.
Casa Linda
South Florida’s mix of cultures has led to the forging of some of the area’s best cuisines. No one restaurant stands out as an example better than Casa Linda. Family run since its inception, locals gather here for some of the best Mexican food in Boynton Beach. Chefs serve up dishes such as carne asada, topped with yellow rice and refried beans, and ropa vieja with black beans and spices.
